The name means ‘’ladder’’ or ‘’flight of steps’’ in Italian, characteristic of this hill-top village which runs along the side of Dragon Valley right above Amalfi and adjacent to Ravello. It is the oldest town on the Amalfi Coast and is the ideal location for people who enjoy country hill walks. Newly rebuilt, Casa Elena is within a few minutes walk of a swimming pool and a central terminus for bus services to Ravello and the resort towns of the Amalfi Coast.
